Alpha Challenge is one of the world’s premier stock pitch competitions, and has become a primary interview hub for investment management recruitment.
Hosted by UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, the Alpha Challenge organization needed help designing and executing the content strategy for annual feature event. We gladly rose to the occasion, bringing an intimate knowledge of their target audience together with our experience crafting creative digital solutions that support events across the country.

Design and execute a new content strategy for the Alpha Challenge event series to re-engage an audience that includes some of the most successful investment managers and firms in the world. Provide on-site production support throughout the event, with ultra fast turnaround on shareable video deliverables.
Each year, our production team spends three days on-site at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to capture the Alpha Challenge event.
Our goal for this year was to capture unique perspectives from MBA students, judges, and investment managers, and to produce a hard-hitting event recap video. Our content capture included aerial photo and video, timelapses, interviews, and extensive b-roll which was catalogued for future use.
Including a full day of formal interviews, the event provides 3-person teams from top MBA schools the opportunity to pitch their long and short ideas to a panel of distinguished judges representing some of the most successful investment managers and firms in the world.
Throughout the event we assembled a recap video highlighting how far the students had come in just three short days of pitches.

New professional photography was needed to go along with the organization’s website refresh. An additional goal was to highlight the interaction between top MBA students and judges.
From team portraits and candids to aerial images of the campus of UNC Chapel Hill, our team continues to capture unique angles year after year.
Amplifying engagement to audiences beyond ateendees
This messaging was specifically designed to prompt attendees to share the recap video with their friends and colleagues on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Immediately after the video played to the live audience, attendees received the share links via text and email, resulting in a lift in social interest in the content.
